Winners of FLEET MANAGER OF THE YEAR

During 2006, F Hunt Coach Hire has converted one service bus and one coach to run on 100 per cent vegetable oil. Due to the higher viscosity of vegetable oil, a small separate fuel tank for diesel is fitted, which is used during start up and shut down to prevent waxing. Any data gleaned from the project is shared openly with other operators.

In the near future, it is hoped that these vehicles will be fuelled using locally sourced waste oil from the seaside resorts along the East Coast of Lincolnshire, and the company is working together with Lincolnshire County Council in a monitoring exercise which is exploring the benefits of using a fuel additive.

The 2006 Private Sector Fleet Manager of the Year Award goes to David Eales of F Hunt (Coach Hire). Runner up 2006 Private Sector Fleet of the Year.
